When brewing premium ceremonial matcha, there are three tools that are considered essential. The matcha bowl, match bamboo whisk and matcha scoop - or chashaku as it is known in Japanese. The matcha scoop is designed specifically to reach inside small matcha tins and scoop the precise amount needed to brew a perfect bowl of matcha green tea. One chashaku scoop equates to roughly a third of a teaspoon of matcha powder. Two scoops equate to a standard amount for usucha style brewing (1/2 teaspoon) which is the amount we recommend for everyday brewing.
